Melanie Brougher, 53, of Hoopeston, IL passed away at 1:00 A.M. Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born January 18, 1968, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Lester and Carolyn (West) Cundiff. She married Donald Brougher on June 30, 1985, in Rossville, IL. He survives in Hoopeston.
She is also survived by her mother, Carolyn Cundiff of Rossville, IL; three daughters, Jennifer Cundiff of Hoopeston, IL, Jessica (Eric) McCalla of Bentonville, AR, and Jamie Carswell of Hoopeston, IL; one son, Donald (Kat) Brougher III of Hoopeston, IL; three sisters, Kelly (Curtis) Taylor of Rossville, IL, Sheena (Darrell) Danner of Rossville, IL, and Lesley (Todd) Smith of Rossville, IL; one brother, Mark Cundiff of Wahpeton, ND; seven grandchildren, Jersey, Jessa, Aiden, Brinley, Espyn, Emorie, and Adalee, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Lester Cundiff; son-in-law, Michael Carswell; and sister-in-law, Paula Cundiff.
Melanie worked as a CNA at the Danville VA for over ten years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, bird watching, and most of all, playing with her grandchildren.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.
