Betty Steiner, 95, of Cissna Park, IL,

Betty Jean Steiner, 95, of Cissna Park, IL, passed away at 7:01 P.M. Sunday February 6, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born July 21, 1926, in rural Claytonville, IL, the daughter of Daniel and Vita (McCray) Hamrick.  She married Robert A. Steiner on May 2, 1948, at the Claytonville United Brethren Church.  He preceded her in death. 

She is survived by three daughters, Donna (Les) Young of Cissna Park, IL, Carol (Paul) Reed of Muscatine, IA, and Becky (Kevin) Yergler of Cissna Park, IL; two sons, Ed (Julie) Steiner of Cissna Park, IL and Alan (Pam) Steiner of Muscatine, IA; sixteen grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Overbey, Josh (Stace) Young, Heather (Patrick) Morrical, Lucas (Kira) Reed, Autumn (Bob) Kinsey, Karl (Krista) Steiner, Carrie (Chad) Rust, Bret (Brian) Neukomm, Cara (Dan) Whalen, Jared (Julie) Yergler, Ashleigh (Chad) Verkler, Bryana Yergler, Raelynn (Justin) Estay, and Jake, Sophia, and Logan Steiner; 42 great-grandchildren, Logan (Sierra) Overbey, Madison (Michael) Baer, Griffin, Hayden, and Owen Overbey, Joseph (Alissa) Young, Michael, Alexis, and Ella Young, Emma, Ava, Gabe, and Jed Morrical, Max, Finn, Zoie, and Mae Kinsey, Kipten, Lincoln, Isabelle, Andersen, and Gabrielle Steiner, Kynzie and Klay Rust, Brady, Brittyn, Bransyn, Bria, and Bryant Steiner, Morgan, Caleb, Allyson, and Caitlyn Whalen, James, Joel, and Jonah Yergler, Malaki, Lilyana, and Lydia Verkler, and Skyler, Tinley, and Weston Estay; two step-great grandchildren, Maddox and Ash Ulch; six great-great-grandchildren, Sophia, Leigha, and Scarlett Overbey, Ronan Young, and Wade and Henry Baer with two more on the way; one sister, Maxine Geiger of Watseka, IL; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lois Ristow; and four brothers, Loren “Buck”, Lloyd, Wayne, and Dan “Beanor” Hamrick. 

Betty was co-owner, along with her husband, of Steiner Furniture in Cissna Park until her son, Ed and his wife, Julie, took over.  She was a member of the Cissna Park United Methodist Church for over seventy years.  She was an avid supporter of the Timberwolves athletics and was inducted to the Timberwolves Booster Club Hall of Fame.  Betty loved attending her children and grandchildren’s activities and spending time with her family, especially her sisters as they were very close. 

A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday February 11, 2022, at the Cissna Park United Methodist Church, 221 W. Koplin Ave. Cissna Park, IL.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 12, 2022, at the church with an hour visitation being held prior to the service. Pastor Ashley Clifton will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Cissna Park Cemetery.
