Mary Knapp, 92, of Bloomington formerly of Cissna Park

Mary Jane Knapp, 92 of Bloomington and formerly of Cissna Park passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home in Fairbury. She was born on April 24, 1929 in Hoopeston, IL a daughter of John Vernon and Helen Aletha (Thornburg) Gholson. Mary married Earl E. Knapp in Peoria on November 27, 1947 and he preceded her in death on January 28, 2001. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and one daughter-Cathy Knapp. Surviving are two daughters- Barbara Knapp of Bloomington and Sue Knapp (Jamison Shefts) of Dunlap; two sons- Ronald (Darleen) Knapp of Bloomington and Rick Knapp (Caron Boland) of Daphne, AL; five grandchildren- Daniel (Shelley) Knapp, Tyler (Kristy) Knapp, Erin (Tyler) Sands, Clayton Vazis, and Carly (Luke) Chitwood; five great grandchildren- Taylor Knapp, Simone Knapp, Graham Knapp, Theo Sands, and Tanner Sands; two sisters-Alice Butts of Danville and Shirley Sondgerath of Ambia, IN.

Mary was a member of the Bloomington Apostolic Christian Church.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday April 25, 2022 at the Bloomington Apostolic Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am at the church with ministers of the church officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday April 25, 2022 at the Cissna Park Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action network (pancan.org) or Robert H. Lurie of Northwestern University (Breast Cancer fund).

Arrangements are by the Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park.
