Glenda Goble, 71, of Hoopeston

Glenda Lynn Goble, 71, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 6:20 A.M. Monday June 20, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born December 7, 1950, in Watseka, IL, the daughter of Floyd and Jean (Moore) Starkey. She married David Alan Goble on June 1, 1968, at the East Lynn United Methodist Church. He survives in Hoopeston. 

She is also survived by her mother, Jean Starkey; two daughters, Mechelle Berlin of Hoopeston, IL and Carla (Renee) Castro of La Mirada, CA; two sons, Douglas (Susan) Goble of Rankin, IL and Andrew (Heidi) Goble of Rossville, IL; two sisters, Debra Millitzer of Indianapolis, IN and Lori (Barry) Nudlman of Incline Village, NV; 10 grandchildren, Geoffrey (Kim) Berlin, Alexis (Brad) Hardcastle, Libbie (Zach) Woodby, Annabelle Goble (Caleb Hall), Shania Goble (Brody Warren), Madalyn Goble, Payton Berlin, Kayla Goble (Trenton Woodby), Isabella Castro, and Seth Goble; 5 great-grandchildren, Alora Berlin, Meela Hall, Haronee and Shailee Warren, and Harper Woodby and another baby Woodby on the way; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Starkey; brother, Mike Starkey; father-in-law, Ralph Goble; and two brothers-in-law, Melvin and John Goble. 

Glenda worked at Greene Galvanized Stairs in East Lynn, but first and foremost, she was a homemaker, caring for her family.  She attended New Beginnings of Hoopeston, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and volunteered at food banks. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and tending to her flowers. Most of all, Glenda loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday June 26, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday June 27, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Stan Jackowski and Pastor Bruce McQuigg officiating, with visitation prior from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in East Lynn Cemetery in East Lynn, IL.
