Joyce M. Anderson, 83, of Hoopeston, IL, formerly of rural Danville, IL, passed away at 4:05 P.M. Sunday July 24, 2022, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Living in Hoopeston. She was born September 27, 1938, in Cissna Park, IL, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Mathis) Rentsch. She married Larry R. Anderson on December 19, 1965, in Hoopeston. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2006.
She is survived by her son, David Anderson of Danville, IL; one sister, Lois Pritchett of Little Rock, AR; one nephew, Robert (Jane) Long of Hoopeston, IL; and one great-niece, Sydney Long.
In addition to her husband, Joyce was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marilyn Hemmerling and Diane Long; two brothers-in-law, James Long and Jim Pritchett; and one infant brother, Dale Rentsch.
Joyce was a homemaker. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church in Danville. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and games, and was a fan of Illini basketball. Joyce also loved collecting Fenton glass and other novelties.
A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Friday July 29, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, with Pastor Kevin Purdy officiating. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery.
