Rodney Allen “Hot Rod” Comstock, 65, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 12:58 P.M. Friday July 22, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born November 4, 1956, in Danville, IL, the son of Edwin “Eddie” and V. Helen (Casner) Comstock. He married Roberta “Bobbi” Mann on March 12, 1982, in Watseka, IL. She survives in Hoopeston.
He is also survived by his mother, Helen Comstock; one daughter, Tosha Piper (Ronnie Elliott) of Hoopeston, IL; Todd Piper (Danell Stock) of Bloomington, IL; one sister, Christy (David) Jeffers of Prescott Valley, AZ; one brother, Steve (Betty) Comstock of Hoopeston, IL; and one granddaughter, Lilie Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin “Eddie” Comstock and one sister, Kathy Turner.
Rodney was a school bus mechanic at Hoopeston Area schools and had also served as a bus driver. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Lilie, whose life he greatly impacted and shaped.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and no services will be held.
