Barbara Irene Simpson, 84, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 1:38 P.M. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Hoopeston.  She was born November 7, 1937, the daughter of William and Helen (Fairy) Benson.  She married Jack Simpson in 1962.  He preceded her in death. 

She is survived by three daughters, Jody (Ron) Kuntz of Hoopeston, IL, Vicki Foster of Champaign, IL, and Kristi (Frank) Longfellow of Hoopeston, IL; two sons, Danny (Ashley) Simpson of Hoopeston, IL, and John (Angie) Simpson of Naples, FL,; one sister, Bertie Dresback of Decatur, IL,; eleven grandchildren, Samantha Foster, Matthew Kuntz, Kerrie Kuntz, Kurtis Simpson, Stacy Espinoza, Barbara Coon, Jack Simpson, Ross Simpson, Taylor Simpson, Danielle, Simpson and Cael Simpson; eleven great grandchildren, Ruben Espinoza, Ceaser Espinoza, Elle Espinoza, Connie Warner, Brendan Simpson, Emily Jones, Miley Crawford, Jack Crawford, Graysha Kuntz, Azalea Kuntz, and Kaeden Felder, and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, great grandson, Payton Simpson, two brothers, Ivan and Moe and three sisters, Evelyn, Doris, and Pearl. 

Barb was a homemaker.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hoopeston.  She enjoyed gardening, mushrooming, cooking and traveling with her sisters. 

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.  The funeral will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Adam Taubert officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery.
