Barbara Kay Blackwell, 70, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 2:39 P.M. Monday October 17, 2022, at her home. She was born April 7, 1952, in Benton County, IN, the daughter of Raymond and Wilma (Hicks) Langellier. She married Steve Blackwell on June 24, 1970, at the Prairie Green Church of Christ. He survives in Hoopeston. 

She is also survived by one daughter, Amy (Brad) Pickett of Hoopeston, IL; one son, Craig (Kristi) Blackwell of Hoopeston, IL; three sisters, Gloria Henthorn of Danville, IL, Donna Caspers of Rankin, IL, and Sue Langellier of Watseka, IL; two brothers, Ray (Nancy) Langellier of Wellington, IL and Ronnie Langellier of Stockland, IL; grandchildren, Ryan (Madison) Pickett, Madeline Pickett, Meadow Blackwell and Alex’s widow, Taylor Pickett; great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Wrenley Pickett; many nieces and nephews; and her special lifelong friend, Penny Wilken. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty; five sisters-in-law, Frances, Rose, Mary Lou, Marge, and Nancy; six brothers, Delmar, Morris, Gordon, Lewis, Lloyd, and Jerry Langellier; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Henthorn and Jim Caspers; and two grandchildren, Sydni Blackwell and Alex Pickett. 

Barbara cleaned houses and later became a home health care provider. She was a member of the Milford Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, working outside in her flowers, and collecting many items. Barbara especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and was always there to help others. 

A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday October 24, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday October 25, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Brent Zastrow officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
