Steven Lee Coon, 64, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 8:29 A.M. Friday October 28, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born April 11, 1958, in Danville, IL, the son of Donald and June (Pentecost) Coon.
He is survived by three sons, Darin, Coty, and Damon Coon of all of Hoopeston, IL; one sister, Mychelle Coon of Hoopeston, IL; one brother, Tim (Darlene) Coon of Hoopeston, IL; five grandchildren, Ryder, Myles, Marley, Kingston, and Emmitt; several nieces and nephews; and his three dogs, Rocky, Buster, and Bubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Laurie Wisdom.
Steve worked as a mechanic at ConAgra Foods and later at Full-Fill Industries, until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, racing stock cars, tinkering in his garage, and listening to old country music.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M – 12:00 P.M. Thursday November 10, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The memorial service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Milton officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
