Thomas “Tom” C. Adwell, 74, of Rossville, passed away at 5:49 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at his home surrounded by family, after a brief hard fight with cancer.

Tom was born on May 1, 1948, in Glasgow, Kentucky, the son of Roy Lee and Emma Belle (Biggers) Adwell.  He married Tari Joyce Carpenter on July 2, 1999, in Rossville, Illinois.  She survives.

He is also survived by two step-daughters- Jennifer (Chris) Danner of Hoopeston and Tabitha (Jerome Allison) Powell of Rossville; three sons- Tom (Carrie Budzyn Daniels) Adwell, Scott (Kristee) Adwell and Jimmy Adwell all of New Jersey; six grandchildren- Mason Tuggle, Skylar Danner, Tyler Adwell, Ava Adwell, Olivia Danner and Dylan Adwell; sister- Cathy Phegley of Rossville; and mother-in-law- Joan Carpenter of Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law- Jim Carpenter, sister-in-law- Donna Carpenter and father-in-law- Bob Carpenter.

Tom graduated from Rossville High School, in 1966.  He served in the United States Air Force, from 1966-1970.  He later worked for Strapack. for 15 years and worked up to the day before he went to the hospital.   He was a past member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and the Rossville American Legion.  He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard or puttering in the yard as he liked to call it.  Tom also enjoyed mushroom and ginseng hunting.  He enjoyed spending his time with his family and watching sports on TV, especially college sports.

Tom will be sadly missed by all his family and special friends at work, that are too many to list.
