William F. Crose, 83, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 10:49 A.M. Saturday December 10, 2022, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. He was born July 31, 1939, in Hoopeston, IL, the son of William J. and Mildred Nadene (Marler) Crose. He married Nancy Kay McVicker on September 12, 1959, at the First Christian Church in Hoopeston. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2022.
He is survived by one daughter, Abby (John) Harrison of Goodrich, MI; Scott (Julie) Crose of Hoopeston, IL and Mike Crose of Arizona; one sister, Sue (Fred) Obenland of Hoopeston, IL; six grandchildren, Lindsey Crose (Dustin Ammann), Jordan (Sadie) Crose, Luke (Kayla) Harrison, Matt (Allison) Harrison, Sarah Young, and Jason Crose; five great grandchildren, Nash and Jude Ammann, Theodore Harrison, Aiden Young, and Madyson Crose; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Arthur Daniel Crose.
William worked for the Hoopeston Police Department for several years. He later joined the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union Local #293 before owning and operating Hoopeston Plumbing and Heating. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, watching the Chicago Cubs, and loved his dogs.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held.
