Susan Joann Redden, 63, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 8:40 P.M. Tuesday December 20, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born September 29, 1959, in Danville, IL, the daughter of William T. and Patricia J. (Gooden) Dooley. She married Dean H. Redden on November 30, 1980, at the First Christian Church in Hoopeston. He survives in Hoopeston. 

She is also survived by one daughter, Bobbi Redden (Richard) Harbacek of Hoopeston, IL; one son, Billy (Carissa) Redden on Hoopeston, IL; one step-son, Jeremiah (Amy) Redden of Lafayette, IN; five grandchildren, Madison Barnes, Macy Ray, Keagan Hall, Sawyer Redden, and Jordan (Morgan) Harbacek; one aunt, Kay Williams; a special cousin, Doug Vailes; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Timothy Dooley and Jerry Dooley; a special aunt, Judy (Gooden) King; one uncle, Jimmy Gooden; and a special cousin, Debbie Vailes. 

Susan was the Assistant Director of the Hoopeston Multi Agency for 18 years, where she and Chalmers Flint started the Teen Reach program. She attended the First Church of God in Hoopeston and was a member of the United Fund. She enjoyed watching crime documentaries, drinking a cup of coffee, and talking with her friends on the telephone. Susan’s children and grandchildren were her life, and she was always there to support them in all their activities.  

A visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Wednesday December 28, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Milton officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
