Dennis Thomas, 71, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 5:34 P.M. Friday, December 23, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.  He was born April 8, 1951, the son of Evert and Helena (Winkler) Thomas Sr.  He married Robin Goin on April 12, 2015.  She survives in Hoopeston. 

He is also survived by one daughter, Destiny Thomas of Hoopeston; two sons, Dustin (Sharon) Goin of Hoopeston and Adrian Thomas of Tilton; three grandchildren, Alexa Conover, Bentley Goin, and Kali Goin, and several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two infant sons, two sisters, and two brothers. 

Dennis served in the Army from 1969 – 1970 during the Vietnam War.  He was a furnace installer, carpenter and general handyman.  He enjoyed collecting antique/vintage cars and motorcycle choppers. 

Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a private burial will be held at a later date. 

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society,  the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Donor’s Choice.
