Lisa Ann LaBounty, 59, of Cissna Park, IL, passed away at 2:35 A.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL. She was born May 9, 1963, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Donald K. and Helen Eileen (Murphy) LaBounty.
She is survived by one sister, Diane Goin of Hoopeston, IL; and five nieces and nephews, Tami Goin of Hoopeston, IL, Cara Goin of Rantoul, IL, Laura (Tim) Garrison of Rantoul, IL, David LaBounty of Paris, IL, and Brenden Mathew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rhonda LaBounty; one brother, David LaBounty; one brother-in-law, Gary Goin; and her grandparents, Laura and Lee Murphy and Lyda and William James LaBounty.
Lisa worked at WorkSource in Danville. She enjoyed bowling in the Special Olympics and performing in plays with her theater group. She was also in the movie production, Dr. Seuss- Someone Stole My Hoo-Poo-Foo-Too-Boo-To-Bah!, which premiered at the art theater in Champaign, IL. There was a special book written about Lisa, called Lisa a Rosebud Forever, which was used by several colleges throughout the United States for teaching those with down syndrome and special needs.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in memory of Lisa to the donor’s choice.
