Carl Fox, 78, of rural Danville,

Carl E. Fox, 78, of rural Danville, IL, passed away at 12:37 A.M. Thursday February 2, 2023, at his home. He was born February 7, 1944, in Danville, IL, the son of Corbit and Ethel (Snyder) Fox. He married Rosemary Cannon on July 9, 1976, in Loogootee, IN. She survives in rural Danville.  

 

He is also survived by one daughter, Carmen D. (Larry R.) Whorrall of Danville, IL; two sons, Carl E. (Stacey) Fox Jr., of Danville, IL and Jesse J. (Kimberly) Fox of Danville, IL; one sister, Debbie (Bobby) Key of Ridge Farm, IL; one brother, David (Luetta) Fox of Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Norma Fox of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Nathan Fox, Chelsey (Jake) Simmons, Chase (Emily) Whorrall, CasaDee (Blake) Reifsteck, Brandon Fox, and Brittney Fox; four great-grandchildren, Alaina Hamilton, Beau Simmons, Jameson Whorrall, and Sophia Rose Whorrall; and many nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Cecil, Mervin, Elmer, and Larry Fox.  

Carl worked at Hyster in Danville for thirty years until his retirement. He served in the United States Marine Corps serving active duty in the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Hoopeston where he drove the church bus taking kids to school. Carl liked old cars and enjoyed attending car shows. He also enjoyed target shooting, camping, and having cookouts. Most of all, Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday February 8, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday February 9, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 323 Seminary Ave, Hoopeston, IL with Pastor Adam Taubert officiating. Burial will follow in Gundy Cemetery in rural Bismarck, IL. Military rites will be accorded by the Hoopeston American Legion Post #384.
