Tony Gene Miller, 79, of Hoopeston, IL, passed this life peacefully to be received into heaven on March 28, 2023. He was born May 27, 1943, to Donald and Thelma Miller. He married Cynthia Mae Parent on November 9, 1968, in Saginaw, MI. They enjoyed 51 years of happy marriage and had 3 beautiful children Tony, Michelle, and Tracy.
Tony was a hard worker and had many jobs over his lifetime to help support his family. He retired from Omni Forge of Remington, IN. Tony enjoyed fishing, watching sports, hanging out with friends and family, and drinking an ice-cold beer. He was known as “Big Tony” by all his wife's family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy. The highlight of his later years was that he simply enjoyed picking up his grandchildren from school and taking them to Casey's.
Tony leaves behind his 3 children, Tony Miller of Hoopeston, IL, Michelle (Daniel) Maxwell of Hoopeston, IL, and Tracy (Dustin) White of Rossville IL; 6 grandchildren, Haley Edwards, Colton Maxwell, Chevelle White, Jameson White, Joshton Swartz, and Ethan Swartz; 2 great grandchildren, Alaya and Alana Edwards; 1 brother, Bob Miller of Gainesville, MO; 2 very special brothers-in-law, Bill Goodrum of Hoopeston, IL, and Jim Parent of Mahomet, IL; two very special sisters-in-law, Abby Bosi of Flowery Branch, GA and Donna Steinhafel of Lake in the Hills, IL; many nieces, nephews and friends whom he loved dearly; and two special nieces, Emily (Roy) Espinoza of Hoopeston, IL and Carina Bosi of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cindy Miller; his parents; 5 sisters, Sandra Spivey, Carol Miller, Shirley Baker, Judy Ford, and Sissy Goodrum; and 1 brother, Barry Miller.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held on May 28, 2023, from 4-7 P.M. at The Pump, 1023 W. Main St. Hoopeston, IL.
