Sandra Drullinger, 81, of Hoopeston

Sandra Sue (Edwards) Drullinger was born on May 16, 1941, to Albert and Lena Edwards (Staton).  The second of eight children, she shared an especially close bond with her sisters, who she loved to travel with.  She was married to Paul Drullinger, with whom she shared many adventures traveling through the mountains of New Mexico, where they made their home for many years.  She had also had some lovely trips to Hawaii, as well as a trip to Europe with her son, Scott and her husband Paul, and another special trip to Europe with her sister, Cheryl.

Having earned a degree from DACC, Sandra was proud to be an electronic technician, a job held by very few women.  Sandra was well known for being the best pie baker in the world. If you were lucky enough to have had a slice of one, you know!!!  Sandra enjoyed making quilts, baking, and gardening and was a hot air balloon enthusiast, having lived in the Hot Air Balloon Capitol of the World.

From a young age, she worked hard and dedicated her life to caring for her sons.  She passed the real estate salesman exam in 1981. She was a shopkeeper and owned a shop in Downtown Hoopeston, For Keeps, where she enjoyed meeting and reacquainting herself with members of the community.

In her later years, Sandra enjoyed coffee with a special group of friends, Debbie, Rita, Joannie, Judy and Orleana, and enjoyed the staff at 112 in particular. Recently, Sandra enjoyed a retreat at the Abbey of Gethsemani with her Contemplative Prayer Group and Poetry Club at the Milford Library.  She was blessed by a lifelong friend, Shirley Bomba and a special friend, Gail Swarthout, she met when she moved to New Mexico.  She was also very close with her sister-in-law, Sheila, who she loved and confided in.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Michael Bagley, her brother, Eddie Edwards, her sister-in-law, Sharon Edwards, and her brother-in-law, Richard Hampton.  She is survived by her two sons, Scott Bagley (Caroline) and Sean Bagley, three brothers, Terry Edwards, James (Diana) Edwards, and Tom Edwards, three sisters, Kay Hampton, Cheryl (Larry) Stephen, and Wendy (Andy Fink) Edwards, her sister-in-law, Sheila Edwards, grandson, Otto, stepsons, Mark Drullinger and John Drullinger, stepdaughters, Valerie Faucett and Jackie (Gary) Haas (the daughter she always wanted), along with 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren who all loved her and were loved in return.  To know Sandra was to know love and her family will miss her dearly all of our days.

A public graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Floral Hill Cemetery, followed immediately by a celebration of life at her home. Memorial donations may be made to Hoopeston Animal Rescue Team (HART).  Please visit www.anderson-funeral-home.com
