Mary Tressa “Treedy” Norris, 87, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 10:15 P.M. Wednesday May 10, 2023, at the Villas of Holly Brook in Danville, IL. She was born December 24, 1935, in Hoopeston, IL, the daughter of Bratton and Ophia Iona (Crothers) Franklin. She married James Bernard Norris, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Allen (Kim) Norris of Oakwood, IL; brother-in-law, Bob Roberts; three grandchildren, Amanda (Luc) Ames, Jason (Jody) Norris, and Ian Holk; four great grandchildren, Isabel and Cooper Ames, Max Holk, and June Norris; and several special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Betty Wheeler, Dorothy Campana, Carrie Kelnhofer, Dalton Cuzzort, Barbara Roberts, and Catherine Louise Troxel; and three brothers, Ray and Earl Cuzzort and Ronald Franklin.
Treedy worked at General Electric and later at FMC in Hoopeston for over twenty years before her retirement. After retirement, she worked at the Hoopeston Multi-Agency thrift shop. Treedy loved her family. She also loved all the children in her neighborhood, and they called her Aunt Treedy. She enjoyed cooking for her family and traveling to visit her grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Wednesday May 17, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
