Willa Charlene Warner, 78, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 6:26 P.M. Wednesday May 17, 2023, at Hawthorn Inn of Danville. She was born July 2, 1944, in Danville, IL, the daughter of William and Alice (Russell) Mullins. She married Paul Leslie Warner on December 11, 1982, in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2010.
She is survived by two daughters, Kim (Mike) Warner of Hoopeston, IL and Joy (Wayne) Wilson of Glasgow, KY; one son, Terry Elliott of Cayuga, IN; 10 grandchildren, Jason Fairchild, Linsey Warner, Brandi Warner, Coty Elliott, Justin Warner, Megan Poteet, Brandon Elliott, James Wilson, Conner Wilson, and Maggie Wilson; five great-grandchildren, Kenyon Montez, Willa Martinez, and Gracelynn, Addie and Aiden Poteet; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jody King; and one brother, Wayne Sergent.
Charlene worked at Pamida and later at Dollar General. She attended New Beginnings of Hoopeston. She enjoyed working in her yard, reading entertainment magazines, and working crossword puzzles. Most of all, Charlene loved her family.
A visitation will be held 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. Monday May 22, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be cremated, and a private family burial will be held.
