Marilyn Redman Talbott, 87, of Mamou, Louisiana, formerly of Potomac,

Marilyn Redman Talbott, 87, of Mamou, Louisiana, formerly of Potomac, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023.

Marilyn was born on July 18, 1935, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of William Dean and Irene I. (Myler) Redman.  She married Estil Dale Talbott in November of !954, in Potomac.  He preceded her in death in September of 1990.

Marilyn is survived by son, Dale “Butch” Talbott; two daughters, Billie Coleman (David), Joella Fruge (Jimmy); eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Estil Dale Talbott; two sons, Scott Talbott, Donnie Talbott; her parents, William Dean and Irene Myler Redman; one brother, Darrell Redman and one great-grandchild, Hannah Landreneau.

Marilyn was a member of the Middlefork United Methodist Church.  She worked as a cook in Potomac and was known for her wonderful cooking, especially biscuits and gravy.

A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at the Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, with Pastor George Desmond officiating.  Burial will follow the service in the Potomac Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Marilyn’s life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at: www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
