Sandra Joan Morris, 74, of Rossville

Sandra Joan Morris, 74, of Rossville, IL, passed away at 11:26 P.M. Tuesday September 5, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent – Heart Center in Carmel, IN. She was born June 26, 1949, in Lafayette, IN, the daughter of Margaret (Molyneux) Gwin. She married Michael Deno, and they had two children. She later married Frank Sorenson and he preceded her in death in 1994. She then married Bill Morris and he preceded her in death in 2014.

She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly A. (Brad) Johnson; one son, M. Chad (Corin) Deno; two step daughters; three step sons; two sisters, Nancy Newby and Elizabeth Kay Molyneux; one brother, “Pete” (Ginny) Gwin; three grandchildren, Damen Whittington, Dru Deno, and Owen Johnson; nine step-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to two husbands, Sandy was preceded in death by her mother.

Sandy worked as a secretary at Purdue University in Lafayette, IN, for thirty years. She was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church where she was very active doing various charitable and volunteer work. She served as a board member for Mustard Seed Christian Daycare as well as their secretary for many years. Sandy enjoyed working in her flower garden and reading.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday September 28, 2023, at the Danville National Cemetery, 1900 East Main St., Danville, IL, with Pastor Chris Quick officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Rossville United Methodist Church or Mustard Seed Christian Daycare.
