Jill Allyn (Brockway) Mitchell, 77, of Boswell, IN, passed away on Friday evening, November 17, 2023, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Jill was born November 9, 1946, in Danville, IL, daughter of Allan James and Marjorie Delores (Cottingham) Brockway. She married Jeffrey Dale Mitchell of Boswell, IN on September 5, 1970, at the Hoopeston United Methodist Church. Jeff preceded Jill in death on February 14, 2020.
Jill is survived by daughters, Jennifer (Ashton) Eldridge of Phoenix, AZ and Jessica (Patrick) Quinn of Phoenix, AZ; son, James Jeffrey Mitchell of Boswell, IN; sisters, Jane (Jary) Archer of Hoopeston, IL and Judy Brockway (Mark Skelton) of Cambridge, IL; grandchildren, Megan and Emily Quinn and John Eldridge.
Jill graduated from Hoopeston High School in 1964 and attended Eastern Illinois University. After college, she worked at City National Bank in Hoopeston and later retired from the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Boswell. Jill was a lifelong member of the Hoopeston United Methodist Church, volunteered with Women Making A Difference and served as a member of The Mary Hartwell Catherwood Club of the Hoopeston Public Library.
Jill was a sweet, selfless, loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed reading, traveling and an iced-cold Coca-Cola. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching college basketball. She loved being with her family and friends, especially her three grandchildren. Jill’s true calling in life was to care for her family.

Funeral Services: Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 11:00 A.M. CST
Services will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The burial will follow the funeral at the Boswell Cemetery, 2454 W State Rd 352, Boswell, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jill’s name to the Hoopeston United Methodist Church, 403 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL 60942, or the Hoopeston Multi-Agency Service Center, 206 S. 1st Ave, Hoopeston, IL 60942.
