Pearl

Pearl “Pat” Louise Hopkins, 93, of Rankin, passed away at 5:52 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton.

She was born on March 29, 1931, in Crossville, Tennessee, the daughter of Deet and Vina (Hedgecoth) Adams.  She married Raymond P. Hopkins Jr. on January 15, 1956, in Ringo, Georgia.  He preceded her in death on November 20, 1983.

She is survived by two daughters- Paula “Tammy” Tittle of Rankin and Jan Brady of Crossville, Tennessee; one son- Bill (Maria) Hopkins of Allerton; four grandchildren- Christopher Hopkins, Josh (Brittany) Hopkins, Ryan Brady and Kayla Hopkins; four great-grandchildren; sister- Geneva Wyatt of Xenia, Ohio; special nephew- Steve Adams of Lebanon, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson-Brad Tittle, three brothers and four sisters.

Pat spent her time as a homemaker raising three children and her nephew.  She enjoyed reading, especially the National Enquirer.  She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and watching her soap operas.  Pat enjoyed being with family, friends and enjoying a good drink. 

A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Pastor Fred Mikalik officiating.  A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.  A burial will follow the service in Rankin Union Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in Pearl’s name to Accolade Healthcare of Paxton, 450 E.
