Matthew Russell “Happy” Williams, 49, of Wellington, IL, passed away at 1:31 P.M. Sunday June 30, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born October 13, 1974, in Danville, IL, the son of Terry Williams and Louise McDade. He married Valerie Knapp on October 1, 2016, at Lake of the Woods in Mahomet, IL. She survives in Wellington.

He is also survived by his mother, Louise McDade; five children, Raelynn and Mack Williams of Wellington, IL, Kyle Williams of Milford, IL, Matthew Williams of Paxton, IL, and Samantha Palomo of Hoopeston, IL; step-mother, Jackie Williams; one sister, Erin Kempen of Hoopeston, IL; two brothers, TJ Farney of Morris, IL and Jimmy Lawrence of Champaign, IL; three grandchildren, Kaiden Williams, Agustin Bibb, and October Ramsey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Williams, and paternal grandparents, Russell and Maxine Williams.

Matt worked as a concrete finisher for many years, most recently working for Allen Decker. He enjoyed fishing, collecting antiques, and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed cooking out, socializing with friends, and loved spending time with his family.

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 12, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, with Larry Baughn officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
