Arnulfo “Arnie” Gonzalez, 74, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 7:08 P.M. Wednesday July 10, 2024, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. He was born June 2, 1950, in Edcouch, TX, the son of Juan and Juanita (Castillo) Gonzalez. He married Maria Del Carmen Aguillon on December 8, 1970, in Edinburg, TX. She survives in Hoopeston.

He is also survived by one daughter, Virginia (Mario) Garza; one son, Jimmy (Diana) Gonzalez; four sisters; four brothers; one granddaughter, Alexandra Gonzalez; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jaime Gonzalez; two sisters; and one brother.

Arnulfo was a plumber, owning and operating Arnie’s Plumbing for over 30 years until his retirement. He served in the United States Army serving in both Vietnam and Desert Storm. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston. Arnie enjoyed watching cartoons, especially Looney Tunes and the Flintstones. He also enjoyed watching Sanford and Sons and The Three Stooges. Arni loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing and grilling out.

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Tuesday July 16, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral mass will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:30 P.M. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 423 S. 3rd St., Hoopeston, with Father Ignatius Mulenda officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
