Wilma June Nicholson, age 67, of Danville

Wilma June Nicholson, age 67, of Danville, IL, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, August 4th, 2024, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center. She was born on December 22nd, 1956, in Danville, IL, to William and Thorene (Sands) Brewer Schwab. She married her husband Larry Nicholson on October 31st, 1980, and spent 48 wonderful years together and only a few months shy of 45 years married. Larry and Wilma owned their own business after working together for the Commercial News. They had a rental property business where they helped house many families in their community. Wilma was a bright woman whom loved to sing, dance and laugh. In her free time, you could always find her at a bingo hall, either in town or Vegas, winning so often, you’d think it was rigged or you’d find her at a karaoke night wherever one was, singing her heart out to her favorite songs joined by her family. Any of those who have not had her famous chocolate pie, or her homemade chicken and noodles will forever miss out because only she could make them the best. Wilma also never let anyone go without, she would give anyone whatever they needed in their time of need. That woman also LOVED to shop, and not just shop but she was a couponing QUEEN. She could walk out of a store with all her merchandise, and she would get paid to take it with all her coupons. Wilma loved children so much that her and her husband fostered kids while their oldest son was growing up. Wilma loved her husband Larry with all the love she had to give. She and Larry also spent a huge part of their time loving on their kids, grandkids and their nieces and nephews, but honestly any one they encountered over her 67 years. One thing they did often together and with their family was travel. Larry and Wilma loved to travel to Vegas regularly where they had made lifelong friendships and they loved taking their kids and grandkids on vacations where countless beautiful memories were made.

Wilma is survived by her husband, Larry Nicholson of Danville, IL; her son and daughter in law, David & Stacy Nicholson of Covington, IN; her grandchildren, Ashtin, Mariah & Rilee French, Cierra & Clayton Hill, and Jayden; her great grandchildren, Avery and Nicholas; her sister in law, Billie Joe and husband Jeff; her nephews, Bradley and Jeffery; and her great nephews, Wyatt, Riley and Levi; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” & Thorene Schwab; her sisters, Mildred, Sara, Rose, and Barbara; her brother, Billy; and her beloved children, Heather Nicole, Angela Marie and Larry Lee.

Wilma will always be remembered by everyone she encountered. Wilma loved as deeply as she could and gave that love to so many. Her loved ones will find comfort in knowing that she is in heaven singing her heart out and loving the ones she had lost along the way. She lit up any room, her laughter brought everyone around her joy. She will forever be remembered as the woman who could make anything happen with her fiery spirit and contagious laugh.
