JoAnne Marie (Kulp) Gress, 68, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 10:20 A.M., Saturday August 17, 2024, at her home. She was born August 3, 1956, in Jersey Shore, PA, the daughter of Charles Kulp and Mildred (Marks) Lane.
She is survived by two sons, Aaron Gress of Brazil, IN and Eric Gress of Naples, FL; four sisters, Robin Watts of Parkersburg, WV, Gail (Brian) Boyd of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Mary (Joe) Perez of Hoopeston, IL, and Cammy Baird of Danville, IL; two grandchildren, Ella Gress and Conner Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Karen Anderson, Kathy Craft, and Shirley Lindsey; one brother, Billy G.; one step-brother, Bill Green; and one brother-in-law, Greg Baird, Jr.
JoAnne co-owned Gress Liquid Waste for several years and then owned and operated Pla-Mor Lanes Bowling Alley in Hoopeston. She later worked as a Production Supervisor at Teasdale Foods for ten years until her retirement. She was a past member of the Hoopeston Chamber of Commerce and the Hoopeston Junior Women’s Club. JoAnne enjoyed reading, bowling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday September 1, 2024, at The Legion, 502 E. Penn St., Hoopeston, IL.
