Michael (Mike) Wayne Longest, 62, of Hoopeston passed away peacefully at his home at 11:47am September 3rd, 2024. Mike was born October 16th, 1961 in Watseka, IL to Carl Longest and Elaine (Osgood) Longest.

 

Mike enjoyed spending time visiting with his neighbors and family, especially his twin brother Pat. He attended Milford High School and later joined the US Marine Corps. He leaves behind two sons Jeremy (Stacie) Clingenpeel of Danville, IL and Justin Longest of Altamonte Springs, FL; as well as five brothers, Sam (Jackie) Longest of Denver, CO, Doug (Deb) Longest of Watseka, IL, Randy (Teri) Longest of O’Fallon, MO, John (Jill) Longest of Spirit Lake, IA and his beloved twin brother and best friend, Pat (Tammy) Longest of Hoopeston, IL; three grandchildren, Dane Clingenpeel, Kaiden Clingenpeel, Madelyn Clingenpeel; one great grandson, Lincoln; his cherished and spoiled dog, Ryder; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts, uncles, and friends.

 

Mike had a great laugh and was always bringing life and laughter into any room with his gift of gab. He was proud of who he was and he will be truly missed and loved by the ones who knew him best.

 

A memorial service will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Milford Christian Church. Rev. Brent Zastrow will officiate.
