John Lewis “Johnny” McCoy, 78, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 1:45 A.M. Saturday September 7, 2024. He was born November 3, 1945, in LaFollette, TN, the son of Johnny McCoy and Mary Ruth (Parks) Biggs.

He is survived by his life partner of 39 years, Noreen Humphreys Johnson, of Hoopeston, IL; children, Anna Ruth (Kevin) Fleming of Chatsworth, GA, Eric (Connie) Staley of Hoopeston, IL, Deneen (Peter) Hunold of Baltimore, OH, and Brian (Terry) Johnson of Fowler, IN; fifteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

John was a retired truck driver. He served in the United States Army from 1965-1967. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and collecting knives.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
