Severo Jimenez Torres, 64, of Hoopeston

Severo Jimenez Torres, 64, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 8:07 P.M. Monday September 16, 2024, at his home. He was born June 21, 1960, in Cadereyta Jiménez, Nuevo León, Mexico, the son of Jose and Tomasa (Jimenez) Torres. He married Ernestina Granados on February 5, 1982, in Kankakee, IL. She survives in Hoopeston.

He is also survived by three daughters, Edwina (Chris) Rutledge of Hoopeston, IL, Julissa (William) Compton of Hoopeston, IL, and Alba (Jeremy) Baker of Fithian, IL; two sons, James (Michele) Petty of Shorewood, IL, and Christian Torres (girlfriend, Catheey) of Shorewood, IL; three sisters, Maria (Jose Luis) Granados of Dallas, TX, Raquel Torres of Hoopeston, IL, and Magdalena Torres of Hoopeston, IL; two brothers, Jose Luis (Raquel) Torres of Hoopeston, IL and Vale Torres of Mexico; one sister-in-law, Maria Torres of Geneva, IL; nine grandchildren, Esahi Compton, Kaijsa Torres, Ayden Petty, Amarias Compton, Obiet Torres, Arisai Baker, Noah Petty, Ethan Petty, and Azari Baker; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Esahi Eden Torres.

Severo owned and operated his own construction business. He enjoyed working in his garden, listening to 70’s and 80’s music, and particularly enjoyed staying busy with construction work. Severo loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren as he loved being a grandpa more than anything.

A private family service will be held.
