Juanita M. Graefen, 87, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 12:10 A.M. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton Senior Living in Paxton, IL. She was born September 14, 1937, in Rossville, IL, the daughter of Leo and Zona (Brake) Huffman. She married Emil Graefen, Jr. at the Rossville Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2011.
She is survived by one son, Jeffrey Graefen of Hoopeston; one sister, Laura (Gerold) Park of Danville; and several nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Emil, Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Charles Eugene Graefen; sister, Mary Randolph; and two nephews, Michael Park and David Land.
Juanita graduated from Rossville High School in 1955. She was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church in Williamsport, IN. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working with flowers.
A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 7, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, IL.
