Jamie Herbert Hartman, 65, of Rantoul, IL, formerly of Milford, IL, passed away at 8:30 P.M. Wednesday October 2, 2024, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL. He was born May 13, 1959, in Watseka, IL, the son of Henry Hartman Jr. and Catherine (Shoufler) Hartman. He married Carolyn Wycoff on December 29, 2015, in Watseka, IL. She survives in Rantoul, IL.
He is also survived by two step-daughters, Jill LeAnne Johanningsmeier of Scottsburg, IN and Kaylee Jo (Jeffrey) Beer of Rantoul, IL; one sister-in-law, Carol Hartman; four step- grandchildren, Cole Beer, Emmalynn Reiners, Nicholas Beer, and Levi Johanningsmeier; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend who was like a sister, Glenda Cremeens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Hartman; and step-son-in-law, Joseph Johanningsmeier.
Jamie previously worked for several area farmers and most recently worked as a mechanic at McCullough Implement for several years. He enjoyed the country way of life and shooting guns. Jamie also loved his pets.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and the family will hold a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at The Barn in Hoopeston.
