Henry Wayne Breymeyer, 89, of Cissna Park passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on April 28, 1935 in Ash Grove Twp., a son of Henry and Naomi (Elliott) Breymeyer and they preceded him in death. He was baptized in May of 1935 and confirmed on May 16, 1948.
Henry Wayne married Imogene Seggebruch on September 29, 1957 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ash Grove and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Bruce (Shelley) Breymeyer of Thomasboro, Brad (Lisa) Breymeyer of Cissna Park, and Brock (Lisa) Breymeyer of Rankin; eight grandchildren, Brice (Heidi) Breymeyer, Brandt (Brielle) Breymeyer, Brooks (Josey) Breymeyer, Brennon (Carlee) Breymeyer, Dillon (Nikki) Eighner, Brayton (Rachel) Breymeyer, Lexie Breymeyer, and Lacie Breymeyer; nine great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bree, Brittlyn, Natalie, Briggs, Brecken, Brenley, Brody, and Bristol Breymeyer.
Henry (H.W.) was a member of the St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church at Ash Grove. He graduated from Cissna Park Unit 6 High School in 1953. Henry began his career as a truck driver for four years under Edward Alt. Following that, he pursued his passion as a dairy and grain farmer for 30 years and later spent almost ten years as a hog farmer. Henry also spent 17 years of service as a school bus driver for Cissna Park Unit 6. Henry was known for his unwavering dedication to farm life and the countless miles spent in his red truck, leaving behind a legacy of hard work with his wife and three boys.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park, with an additional hour of visitation on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church at Ash Grove. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dale Fjordbotten officiating. Burial will take place at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Ash Grove.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church at Ash Grove, Iroquois Memorial Hospice, or Donor's Choice.
