Melody Kay Boils, 62, of Hoopeston

Melody Kay Boils, 62, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 1:12 P.M. Saturday January 4, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born November 22, 1962, in Danville, IL, the daughter of James R. and Loretta “Darlene” (Lane) Boils. Her father survives in Hoopeston.

She is also survived by three daughters, April (Eddie) Jones, Lacey (Justin) Castillo, and Katie Houser (James Casteel); and seven grandchildren, Adasyn, Bricyn, Cohen, Alisyn, Maggie, Kamryn, and Anasyn.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta “Darlene” Boils.

Melody worked at Weber’s Drug Store as a pharmacy tech for over twenty years. She then worked at the Provena Apothecary Pharmacy for several years and later became a homemaker. She loved crafting, scrapbooking, cooking, and collecting pictures of her family. She also enjoyed collecting Hello Kitty and Betty Boop memorabilia, sipping on Mountain Dew, and decorating her home especially for the holidays. Most of all, Melody enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her cats, Patches and Bubby.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and no services will be held.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Melody to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter, 14775 Catlin Tilton Road, Danville, IL 61834.
