John William Clark, 78, of Rossville, IL, passed away at 12:40 A.M. Wednesday February 19, 2025, at his home. He was born August 4, 1946, in Decatur, IL, the son of Oral and Imo (McElroy) Clark. He married Carol Cleveland on July 14, 1973, in Hammond, IN. She survives in rural Rossville.
He is also survived by five children, Michelle (Stephen) Brown of Fort Wayne, IN, Stephen Clark of Pittsburgh, PA, Andrew Clark of Jacksonville, FL, Carl (Jody) Clark of Rankin, IL, and Dianne (Alex) Trimble of Bismarck, IL; two sisters, JoAnn Clark and Julia Clark both of Springfield, MO; six grandchildren, Lauren and Aaron Brown, Caleb and Lucas Clark, and Logan and Emma Trimble; two nieces; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oral and Imo Clark; and one sister, Janie Geer.
John was a farmer for over forty years until his retirement. He enjoyed many hobbies which included clocks, woodworking, building creations with erector sets and Lego’s, and collecting toy tractors.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and a service will be held at a later date.
