Janice Shields, 74, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 5:30 A.M. Friday February 28, 2025, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Living in Hoopeston. She was born October 10, 1950, in Paxton, IL, the daughter of Claude and Violet (Knerr) Smith. She married Steven Shields on July 3, 1970, at the Rossville Church of Christ. He preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. 

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Janice to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
