Amanda Sue Goodrum, 41, of Hoopeston

Amanda Sue Goodrum, 41, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 8:03 P.M. Wednesday March 5, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born on September 27, 1983, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Robert Cuthrell and Rita (Chambers) Foley. She married Aaron Goodrum on August 9, 2003, in Danville, IL. He survives in Hoopeston.

She is also survived by her two daughters, Breanna Sue and Lauren Elaine Goodrum of Hoopeston, IL; her mother and stepfather, Rita and Larry Foley; her father and stepmother, Robert and Donna Cuthrell; nine brothers and sisters, Judy Schimmel of Granger, IN, Lisa (Walt) Arthur of Whitestown, IN, Stephanie (Lawrence) Rogers of Pontoon Beach, IL, Robert (Rachel) Cuthrell of Knoxville, TN, Nicholas (Kirsten) Cuthrell of Norfolk, VA, Cody (John) Roark of Alvin, IL, Casey (Candy) Miller of Williamsport, IN, Brandon Foley of West Lafayette, IN, and Nicole Foley of West Lafayette, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arvel and Flora Chambers, and Loren and Virginia Cuthrell, and stepfather, Vern Schmidt.

Amanda worked as a Registered Nurse Case Manager for Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center, where she loved advocating for her families and touched many people’s lives throughout her career. She also served on the Heritage Foundation Board of Directors. Amanda was a multiple time Daisy Award winner from the Patrick Barnes Foundation and won a Gold Star Certificate in heart and vascular. She was a member of the Independence Old Fashion Baptist Church. Amanda’s greatest joy was her family as she was a devoted wife and mother. She loved watching her daughter, Bre, play volleyball and enjoyed baking desserts. Amanda had a radiant personality and could always find a way to make people laugh.

A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 10, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday March 11, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastor Henry “Junior” Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.

Memorial donations may be made to an education fund that has been established for Amanda’s daughters at Iroquois Federal, 655 S. Dixie Highway, Hoopeston, IL 60942.
