Matthew David Price, 43, of Rossville, IL, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born September 10, 1981, in Urbana, IL, the son of Richard and Cheryl (Richardson) Price. They survive in Wellington, IL. He married Audrey McCurdy on December 30, 2006, at the Philo Road Church of Christ in Urbana, IL. She survives in Rossville, IL.

He is also survived by his two children, Mara and Avery Price; sister, Mandy (Juan) Lugo of Wellington, IL; four nieces and nephews, Katie and Tori Johnson and Lydia and Logan Lugo; and several great nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Alene Richardson and Verner and Hazel Price; and one cousin, John Burkybile.

Matthew worked at the public works department for the Village of Rossville for the last seven years. He was a member of the Rossville Church of Christ where he served on the Building and Grounds committee and was the ministry leader for greeters. He also served as a volunteer for Caring for Kenya and Serve Together: Vermilion County. Matthew enjoyed watching Illini football and basketball, working on home improvement projects, and woodworking. He especially enjoyed supporting his children’s various sports programs.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday March 13, 2025, at the Rossville Church of Christ, 514 E. Attica St., Rossville, IL, with Pastor Kevin Purdy officiating.
