Robert Lee Reece Jr., 83, of Wellington

Robert Lee Reece Jr., 83, of Wellington, IL, passed away at 4:58 P.M. Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at his home.  He was born March 10, 1942, in Edmonton, KY, the son of Robert Lee Reece, Sr. and Mary Louise (Free) Reece.

He is survived by two daughters, Jami (Jim) Rogers of Cissna Park, IL, and Alicia Reece (Christie O’Shea) of Pittsburgh, PA; one son, Eric (Jordan) Reece of Maryville, TN; four sisters, Judy (Wes) Knapp of Cissna Park, IL, Ruth (Robert) Daugherty of Frohna, MO, Brenda (Phil) Thornton of Armstrong, IL, and Patricia (Francis) Blanchette of Kankakee, IL; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert served in the United States Army from 1960-1964, where he was stationed in Ethiopia.  He owned and operated Radio Shack in Watseka and later Bob’s Electronics. He also worked for Fiorillo & Associates in Paxton, and Uarco in Watseka. He then did independent IT work throughout Iroquois and Ford Counties as he loved computers and electronics.  Bob enjoyed golfing, reading books, and bowling, where he was inducted into the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame for bowling a 300 game. 

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 13, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL. The memorial service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Kathy Murphy officiating.

Memorials may be made in Robert’s name to the donor’s choice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
