Wayne Frederick, 76, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 12:55 A.M. Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at his home. He was born on January 12, 1949, in Danville, IL, the son of Thomas and Thelma Mae (Probasco) Frederick. His mother survives in Hoopeston. He married Judy Haxton on April 5, 2019, in Danville, IL, and she survives in Hoopeston.
He is also survived by five children, Amy (Joe) Rieches of Hoopeston, IL, Doug (Jen) Frederick of Huntley, IL, Kevin (Johnnie Lynn) Frederick of Yatesville, GA, Kellie (Toby) Sheppard of Hoopeston, IL, and Sheena Frederick (Jason Gaspard) of Pearl, MS; one step-daughter, Starla Anderson; one sister, Joan (Randy) Shields of Hoopeston, IL; one brother, Thomas Michael (Vickie) Frederick of Hampton, GA; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Frederick; wife, Melissa Frederick; and a one step-son, Billy Pierce.
Wayne worked at General Motors for over thirty years until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and fishing. He was also a sports enthusiast and especially liked the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, IL, with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating.
