Glen A. Harmeson, 87, of Hoopeston

Glen A. Harmeson was born on December 21, 1937, in Hoopeston, IL and lived there for much of his childhood. His passion for adventure took him to Washington DC where he met and married the love of his life, Patricia (née Pruitt). They eventually settled in North Carolina, where they made lifelong friends and traveled the world. He loved good food and wine, books, art, and dogs, of which they had many over the years.

After Pat passed, Glen returned to Hoopeston where he lived quietly for four years,

close to his sister-in-law, Linda in Watseka, and kind neighbors, Mike and Marcia Gossett, who kept an eye on him.

Glen passed on November 20, 2025, after a long and interesting life. He will be missed.

In addition to his wife, Glen was also preceded in death by his parents, Naylor Harmeson and Dorothy Crawford (nee Diehl); his sister, Susan Hayton; and his brother, Jim Harmeson.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Harmeson of Watseka, IL; his niece, Kim Nelson (nee Harmeson) of Colorado; and his half-brother, Steve Crawford.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and no services will be held.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Glen to the Hoopeston Animal Rescue Team (H.A.R.T) 901 W. Main St., Hoopeston, IL 60942 or to your local Humane Society.
