Jimmie Lynn Barker, 74, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 9:27 P.M. Sunday December 7, 2025, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Living in Hoopeston. She was born on January 8, 1951, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Harvey Leon and Alta Marie (Page) Goodrum. She married David Wells Barker on January 26, 1974, at the First Christian Church in Hoopeston. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2007.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Judy of Hoopeston, IL; her son, Tony (Brandi) Barker of Potomac, IL; one brother, Allen (Christie) Goodrum of Hoopeston, IL; sister-in-law, Pam Barker of Greenbrier, TN; five grandchildren, Logan (Ethan) Smith, Dylan Judy, Kaylyn Hayes, and Alivia and Jaxi Barker; and her nieces and nephews, Becky (Chris) Small, Justin (Laura) Barker, Matt (Harmony) Goodrum, and Leah (Rob) Wade.
In addition to her husband, David, Lynn was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wendy Menschel; brother-in-law, Mike Barker; and mother & father-in-law, Art & LaVonne Barker.
Lynn was a travel agent and later worked at the Vermilion County Circuit Clerks office until her retirement in 2011. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Hoopeston and also a member of the Hoopeston Jaycees where she had served as a past Sweetcorn Festival chairman. Lynn loved to travel and enjoyed going on multiple cruises, island vacations, and visiting Las Vegas. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, at the funeral home with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
