Shirley Ann Leppard, 76, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 12:54 A.M, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at her home. She was born November 26, 1949, in Hayti, MO, the daughter of Henry and Birdell Marie (Clifton) Schwartz. She married Ronald Leppard on March 14, 1992, in Milford, IL. He survives in Hoopeston.
She is also survived by two daughters, Arlene Petty and Tonya Petty; son, Billy (Kristi) Petty; sisters-in-law, Cathy Schwartz, Tammy Riston, and Brenda Schwartz; brothers-in-law, Curt Riston, Donnie Leppard, and Ray Leppard; six grandchildren, Shaun (Lauren) Goodwin, Jennifer Petty, Brittany (Trey) Harper, Tia (Kodi) Gonzalaz, Levi Williams, and Lexi Wood; nine great-grandchildren, Onisty, Darius, Jackson, Analise, Lynleigh, Illianna, Addelyn, Henry, and Antonio; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and four brothers.
Shirley worked at Howard Industries and later Schumacher Electric. She also worked as a waitress at The Coffee Cup. She enjoyed playing bingo, feeding her squirrels, and having cookouts with her family. Shirley’s greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and a visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 27, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL.
