Penny Lou Gaddis, 74, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 7:08 A.M. Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 22, 1951, at Lakeview Hospital in Danville, IL, the daughter of Donald E. and Louella M. (Deck) Foxworthy. She married David L. Gaddis on October 1, 1971, at the First Christian Church in Hoopeston. He survives in Hoopeston.
She is also survived by her son, Jeremy (Jennifer) Gaddis of Rankin, IL; two sisters, Pam (Steve) Moore of Paxton, IL and Tammy (Bud) Rumble of Rankin, IL; one brother, Richard E. “Rick” (Dolores) Foxworthy of Hoopeston, IL; three grandchildren, Brady William Gaddis, Cole David Gaddis, and Gracyn Rae Gaddis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd and Bernice Foxworthy and Henry and Fee Deck; her parents, Donald and Louella Foxworthy; and one brother, Sonny (Levoynne) Foxworthy.
Penny worked at Hoopeston Area High School cafeteria for several years. She also co-owned and operated Gaddis Nursery and Lawncare and Hoopeston Memorials with her husband, Dave. She enjoyed doing yardwork, watching her grandkids’ sporting events, raising her family, and sitting on her swing. One of Penny’s greatest enjoyments was traveling to Las Vegas with her husband.
Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Monday, March 9, 2026 at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home, with Mike Robling officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
