Betty Sue Pickett, 85, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 3:04 A.M. Monday, March 23, 2026, at her home. She was born August 10, 1940, in Manson, TN, the daughter of Mayford and Alpha May (Smith) Linder. She married Otis Pickett on February 14, 1959, in Clarkrange, TN. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2011.
She is survived by her three children, Jimmy (Brenda) Pickett of Williamsport, IN, Teresa (Kenny) Blakey of Hoopeston, IL, and Joanne (Kent) Tuttle of Kingman, IN; daughter-in-law, Pamela Pickett of Bruceville, TX; twelve grandchildren, Josh (Ashly) Blakey, Aleia Pickett (Danielle Richard), Ashley Pickett (Nick Montez), Alexis Pickett, James Hansen, Nikki (Jana) Hansen, Summer Walker, Karlie Blakey (Aaron Hoaks), Skylar Walker, Ferrell Ward, Ax Tuttle, and Bodhi Tuttle; eleven great-grandchildren, Lilly, Landon, Logan, and Levi Blakey, Gavin, Trenton, and Raydon Montez, Phoenix and Zepelin English, and Knox and Maddox Hoaks; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Otis, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Pickett; four sisters, Lois (Billy) Walker, Mildred (Gene) Smith, Maggie Linder, and Norma Dean (Bill) Rogers; and one brother, Mayford Linder Jr.
Betty worked at Howard Industries for 13 years. She was a member of Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor John Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
