Lillian Maxine Criblez, 99 of Potomac

Lillian Maxine Criblez, aged 99 and a resident of Potomac, died on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Hawthorne Inn in Danville.

Born November 1, 1926, on a farm near Hoopeston, she was the daughter of Richard E. and Laura Nettie (McGlaughlin) Holt. Lillian married Allan Criblez at the #10 Church of Christ on June 19, 1948; he passed away on April 29, 2001.

She leaves behind three daughters—Kay Stevens of Arvada, CO, Mary Criblez of Westminster, CO, and Julie (Jack) Moore of Potomac; one son, Robert Criblez of Potomac; a son-in-law, Larry (Karen) Morgan of Rossville; nine grandchildren: Darcy (Aaron) Dees, Aaron (Alycia) Criblez, Matthew (Amy) Morgan, Roy (Karina) Stephens, Amanda (Christopher) Huston, Becy (Brian) Russell, Micki Criblez, Tim (Niki) Morgan, and Karen (Ben) Reichard; 18 great-grandchildren; one expected great-great grandchild; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, daughter Ann Morgan, sisters Helen, Evelyn, and Richardeen, as well as a great-grandchild, preceded her in death.

Lillian graduated from Armstrong High School in 1944 and Illinois Commercial College in 1945. She worked after school for the Treasury Department and later at Industrial Glove Company. As an active member of the #10 Church of Christ, she served as church secretary for three decades and also taught Sunday School. She dedicated herself to her roles as housewife, farmer, and landowner, enjoying gardening, flowers, pets, animals, and sewing. Above all, she cherished time spent with family.

The Criblez family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Hawthorne Inn and Traditions Health Hospice for the compassionate care provided during Lillian’s final days.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the #10 Church of Christ, followed immediately by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. led by Pastor Gary Davis. Burial will take place at Embury Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the #10 Church of Christ in Lillian's memory. Blurton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements honoring Lillian’s life.
