Paul Ray Maze, 46, of Danville, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born September 19, 1979, in Champaign, IL, to Paul J. and Connie (Mizell) Maze.
He is survived by his mother, Connie (Jerry) Anderson of Danville, IL; his son, Logan Maze of Rantoul, IL; his brother, Jim (Nicki Moses) Saathoff of Gifford, IL; sisters Lindsey (John) Bridgman of Potomac, IL and Rebecca Anderson of Oakwood, IL; step-sister Jerralyn Smith of Corbin, KY; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his nephew Lucas Lawrence and maternal grandparents Ken and Ella Mizell.
Throughout his life, Paul worked primarily as a truck driver for J&W Trucking and, most recently, West Jersey Express. He belonged to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gifford, IL. Paul enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley, embracing his love for loud exhaust with the motto, "Loud Pipes Save Lives."
Visitation will be from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Holden officiating. Burial will follow in Partlow Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to assist with Paul’s expenses. The Blurton Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
