Tammy Jean (Duffin) Bertram, 85, of Rossville

Tammy Jean (Duffin) Bertram, 85, of Rossville, Illinois, passed away on June 30, 2026.

Tammy was born on February 20, 1941, in Danville, Illinois, and was raised in Hoopeston, where she graduated from Hoopeston High School.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Bertram, and her parents, Thomas and Vera Duffin.

She is survived by her son, Craig (Wendy) Bertram; her granddaughters, Kelli (Devin) Huckstep and Lacey (Jared) Lyons; along with extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness.

Nothing brought Tammy more happiness than spending time with her family. She was endlessly proud of Craig and adored her granddaughters, Kelli and Lacey, as well as Devin and Jared, whom she loved as her own grandchildren. Their accomplishments, milestones, and time together were the greatest joys of her life.

She never met a stranger. Tammy was known for greeting everyone with a smile and her occasional “Howdy-do,” making friends wherever she went.

One of Tammy’s greatest joys was watching her son, Craig, perform with local bands. She loved music, loved to dance, and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer him on. Those evenings spent listening to him play were among her happiest.

Tammy also enjoyed bowling and golfing with her friends, sharing years of fun, laughter, and treasured memories.

She had a lifelong love of horses and animals. She enjoyed owning horses, spent many years trail riding with family and friends, and was a longtime member of the Rossville Saddle Club. Her love and appreciation for animals remained with her throughout her life.

Tammy and Ralph built a wonderful life together on their farm near Rossville, where they made countless memories with family and friends. Although her later years took her away from the farm she loved, Rossville was always home. Earlier in life, Tammy worked at Gulbransen Organ in Hoopeston, the Hoopeston Food Locker, and later at Aunt Jody’s antique shops in Rossville.

More than anything, Tammy will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, the countless friendships she made, and the joy she found in life’s simple moments. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Rossville Church of Christ, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Purdy officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hill Cemetery. The family has entrusted Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac with arrangements honoring Tammy’s life.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
