Karen Sue Reed, 84, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 6:05 P.M. Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Arcadia Care in Watseka, IL. She was born on May 17, 1942, in Fairbury, IL, the daughter of Benjamin and Nettie Norene (Pedigo) Hannie. She married Ronald Jo “Ronnie” Reed on January 5, 1973. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2013.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Hannie.
She is survived by her son, Jason (Dianna) Reed of Milford, IL; two grandsons, Blake Reed (Jessica Laker) and Jacob Reed (Kylee Dombrowski); five great-grandchildren, Brayden, Brynley, and Kota Reed and Brantley and Hazel Hall; and four nieces and nephews, Sherree Benjamin, Diane Maul, Jeff Hannie, and Rodney Hannie.
Karen was a homemaker, caring for her family. She was a member of the First Church of God in Hoopeston. She was also a member of the Illiana Antique Auto Club and enjoyed attending car shows with her family. Karen also enjoyed playing Bingo and doing puzzles and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
