Regina “Jean” Raymer passed away on November 2, 2026, at the age of 75 after a short battle with cancer. Jean was born October 26, 1951, in Danville, IL, to Kenneth and Barbara (Bedinger) Pollitt. She resided in Vermilion County for most of her life, attending Georgetown High School and eventually settling in Hoopeston. She was a familiar face to many local residents at Pizza King, where she was a manager for 20 years before retiring in 2016.
Jean is survived by a large family, including siblings Deb (Mike) Drollinger (Hoopeston), Terri Carreno Diaz (Hoopeston), and Randy (Donna) Pollitt (Greenfield, IN); her three sons, Andy (Emily) Hepburn (Oconomowoc, WI), Aaron (Carrie) Hepburn (Innsbrook, MO), and Allen Hepburn (Anderson, IN); grandchildren Lauren, James, Logan (Angela), Alex (Megan), Katie Arihood (Chase), and Noah; great-grandchildren Isaac, Liam, Luke Arihood, and Jackson Arihood; and niece/nephews Ashley Smiley, Jon Drollinger, and Ricardo Diaz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Rick and Cindy, nieces Mandy and Aimee Pollitt and grandson Simon Hepburn.
Jean showed her love through what she made and the care she gave. A lifelong crafter, gardener, and resourceful DIYer, she could bring an idea to life with a needle, thread, and fabric. From handmade “Cabbage Patch” dolls, crocheted rugs and blankets, and children’s costumes to a life-sized Halloween witch, her creations reflected her imagination and attention to detail. She had a gift for seeing possibilities in what others might overlook, transforming furniture and remodeling rooms to make each home uniquely hers.
Fiercely independent and happiest with a project underway, Jean loved her Diet Coke and her red-and-white Coca-Cola kitchen, which earned her the name “Grandma Coke” from her grandchildren. She shared a close bond with her sisters Deb and Terri, filled with laughter, crafting, and thrifting. Together, they also cared for their parents as they aged and approached the end of their lives. As a CNA, Jean extended the same care to others, taking pride in helping the aging and sick with dignity.
If asked about her greatest accomplishment, Jean would point to her three boys. She took great pride in their independence and ingenuity, but most of all in the devoted fathers and men of integrity they had become.
